Ever thought how incredibly wonderful it would be to have someone die for you? I mean, REALLY! THINK ABOUT IT! Say you were suffering from an illness. And this illness cannot be cured unless someone could give every cell, every organ and every drop of blood to replace the whole of your body which has been infested by grave infections ever known to medicine or man. NO amount of the state-of-the-art treatments or equipment can bring you back to life. NO bank balance would suffice to get your blood pure again. NOTHING WILL DO! EXCEPT of course, that some one would be willing to give everything he has-not money, not influence-but himself, to save your life. And you wish for a moment that you had been nicer to your friends. You wish you maintained a better relationship with your family. Maybe if my job didn't cloud my priorities, I would have had someone to stick by me. And as you wish and think....
Death is knocking at your door.
The tombstone rolls closer to your tomb.
And your life fades as darkness seeps in.
You ask, ''Who would be willing to give everything for me? Who would be willing to die for me?''
And we tell you, ''Only someone who is selfless, gracious and madly in love with you will die for you!''
You begin to number and name the people in your life. But the choices you have made replay in slow motion and the more you number, the lesser you have. You are desperate! You want a second chance!
Well, if this situation describes you, and you feel there is something in your life that's eating you up and draining the very life out of you, you long for a second chance to be cured of this plague that's stricken your life-I have some awesome news for you!
Even though death knocks at your door, a Saviour knocks too-to give you that second chance.
As the tombstone draws closer, a Saviour draws closer too-to give you that second chance.
As you watch your life fade in the darkness, a Saviour steps in to offer light-to give you that second chance.
And here is where you wonder, ''Who, now can reverse what's been happening? Why am I being eaten alive?''
Here's the answer.
You are being eaten alive because sin rules your heart. Sin doesn't spring out lasting peace. Sin makes your feel so miserable. Sin is your sickness. Sin is your disease. Sin is your plague. And you need someone who can cure you of it. You need someone who will die so that you can live. You question, ''Is there anyone out there?'' You wish you could do something to campaign for your need of life. You want someone to make a pledge.
I'm going to cut the suspense and tell you something plainly. You don't need someone to die for you now. Because someone already did. You don't need to campaign for your need of life, because someone campaigned for you. You don't need anyone to make a pledge for you, because someone made a pledge forever.
Your eyes glimmer with hope and the little life you have in you, now flutters with a joy that you want take all this to the next level. If you want that second chance, you need to give someone a chance. You need to let someone in.
And that someone is-Jesus!
Yes! You can just put it altogether now.
He died for you so that you can live. He chose to answer the door when death came knocking.
He allowed the tomb to hold Him so that your tombstone could be rolled away.
He allowed darkness swallow Him so that you could see light.
He chose to DIE FOR YOU!
He is selfless-He thought of you on that cross.
He is gracious-You don't deserve kindness because you have fallen away
He is madly in love with you-He died for you.
Want more proof? Well, for starters-He made you! Then He dies for you! And since He's not just some random person, the tomb couldn't hold him for too long. Yes! He-God-Jesus Christ rose again! And He lives! Lives for you! Lives to keep you! Lives to love you! Lives to call you His own! Lives to give you a second chance!
Will you give Him a chance?
If you do, tell Him! Tell Him you admit that you are stricken by a terrible plague-the plague of sin! Tell Him you are a sinner. Tell Him you are grateful for being a loving, gracious selfless God and Saviour and that you believe He died and rose again for you. Ask Him to cure you of this horrible plague and make you His own.
The only plague with an eternal cure- Sin!
The only Cure to the plague-Jesus Christ!
Who do you chose? The plague? Or the Cure?
